Software Quality Engineer

Description
Servo Software is always seeking experienced software quality engineers and hands-on technical managers to join our team in the development of the world’s premier mobile search client and service. We are looking for a person with a passion for shipping quality products and services – whether embedded on mobile phones or part of our carrier-grade service infrastructure.

The ideal candidate likes to program and considers himself/herself an engineer and always prefers automated testing to manual testing. This person must have excellent written and oral communications skills and a proven history of testing expertise in mobile or high volume transaction-oriented sytems.
You will work from existing requirements and specifications, produce and maintain test plans and test cases, develop automated tests and reports of your work. The position can be a work-at-home opportunity provided that the individual is a proven self-starter capable of maintaining consistent communications with other team members. We have offices in Hangzhou, China and San Mateo, CA. Working from a Campbell, CA office is also possible.

Qualifications
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience testing mobile software and/or carrier-grade server systems in an agile development environment.
• Proficient with automated and/or programmatic test tools.
• Experience in a distributed work environment (meaning people working around the world.)
• Excellent written and verbal communications and comfortable with IM and Skype type communication with distributed team members when needed.
• A university degree, preferably in computer science or electrical engineering.

• Experience developing one or more of the following server systems is a plus:
◦ Testing applications on Blackberry/RIM, iPhone, Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile, Palm or Access
◦ Localization / Internationalization Testing
◦ Programmatic test development
◦ Automated testing tools
◦ Working with traces, logs and debugging tools
◦ Experience with search engine testing
